What Is a Participatory Process
A participatory process is an organized way for people to take part in discussing, shaping, and helping decide on a specific topic, issue, or project.
In Decidim, a participatory process usually includes different stages, such as information, consultation, proposal submission, discussion, prioritization, decision-making, and follow-up. This allows participation to happen in a more structured, transparent, and meaningful way.
A participatory process can be used for many different purposes, such as public consultation, strategic planning, participatory budgeting, project design, policy development, or collaborative decision-making.
Its purpose is to help turn public interest into real participation, giving people the opportunity to contribute ideas, express opinions, support proposals, and take part in collective efforts that may lead to real outcomes.
